Prologue
Our tournaments are not meant to be Clanwars or Clantournaments. They're just for fun. You can build up a team in whatever way you want as long as your prospective team-mates agree to be in your team. These teams are for this tournament only; they are not static or permanent. After this event you can regroup, rename or just build another team for the next tournament. Same goes for your team's name.
1. General Rules
1.1. Teams A team consists of 5 players. Team name and players stay for one tournament at least. Each team has to nominate a team leader. It is incumbent upon the team leader to register his team, further he is the contact person to the administration team. Each team may nominate one substitute player. The substitute however, has to be named in the registration thread before registration deadline. After the deadline no more changes in names, teams, players etc. are allowed (except the admins are informed in time and agree with the changes).
1.2. Players All participating players need to be registered members to this web site. Players are not allowed to be part of more than one team at the same time. Players must wear a team-tag during matches. Substitute players should be deployed in cases of necessity only. Furthermore the setting in of the substitute has to be declared before a match, substitutes are not allowed to replace players in an ongoing match. Substitutes must neither watch any match as a spectator nor communicate (Teamspeak etc.) with their team in any way as long as the substitute is not playing as a regular player.
1.3. Maps Each team chooses one map from the maplist (see Info & maplist thread for available maps) for the tournament. Double mentioning is ineligible. A map already chosen by a team (named in the registration) cannot be chosen by another team anymore. The map for the Final will be chosen by the organizer in order to ensure fairness. The Final Map will be a surprise-map and will be announced just right before the Final itself.
1.4. Registration There will be a Registration Thread in the Event Forum. The team leader should post a reply, stating the names of the players (+ one substitute), the choice of map, and the name of the team. Please underline the name of the team leader. Last day for registration will be announced in News and the Registration Thread.
1.5. Cancelling Participation If a registered team cannot take part in the tournament or in some matches, this must be announced to the admins at least 24 hours before the tournament/ match (email, icq, msn, TS). In the case that a registered team cannot take part in the tournament (team ≤ 3 players) and does not announce so within the given time-limit, the team and/or players of the team will be suspended for the next tournament.
2. The Matches
A match consists of 4 played rounds (in total) on 2 maps. Each round is 12min of playing time. First, one round will be played in the first map, then one round in the second map. After that the maps will be repeated so every team is once on SF and once on Terror side for each map. On the server, one team can decide which map is to be played first, the other team can choose on which side (SF or Terror) they want to start. Exception: In the Final there will be only one map played twice.
2.1. Rules of the Game The Team that captures more flags, within 4 played rounds, wins the match. A draw after a match is possible. Exception: The Final. At draw after the regular playing time there will be played a 12 minute extra time in Sudden Death Mode (teams stay as they are on SF and Terror side). The team that captures the opponent's flag the first wins the final. At draw after extra time the total kills per team of all three rounds of the final is decisive.
2.2. Teamsize Should a team have too few players at a match for any reason, they are nevertheless allowed to compete against the complete opposing team. The opposing team may freely decide to take players off their team in order to make it a fairer match. Once a player is taken off he is not allowed to rejoin the team, except the missing player of the opposing team is able to join the match too. In this case both teams are allowed to continue the match in original troop strength. If there are 3 players missing in one team constantly (2vs5), the match will be aborted and counted as 6:0 for the opponent team.
2.3. Failure to appear to a match/ Leaving Servers Should a team not appear to a match on time (plus 10 minutes), the match will be counted as 6:0 for the opponent team. This does not apply to the event of delay for reasons for which neither team can be held responsible for (e.g. the whole tournament is behind schedule). Further, teams can, in cases of necessity only, agree on a late start of the match. Exiting a server during a match without a good reason is forbidden. In cases of uncertainty the admins will decide.
3. Code of Conduct on the Servers
All players are asked to behave in a humane way towards other competitors, and to any member of the administration team; treat others as you would like to be treated! If a player is found guilty of misconduct by an administrator, he/ she or the team may receive penalty points or will be disqualified. In order to secure a well-regulated and pleasant course of game, all players are expected to act in a sportsmanlike and fair way. A breach of this rule will be penalized in an adequate way. An admin may, however, impose a penalty for not explicitly listed offences that are unsporting (e.g. unnecessary harassment) on the basis of this rule.
3.1. Intended Suicides Intended suicides are not permitted. If players commit suicide on purpose and/or this behavior has a significant effect on the result of a match, the player or the team may be penalized or even suspended from the tournament.
3.2. Spamming Abusing the in-game chat function for excessive spamming in order to irritate the opponent or to disturb the course of the match is forbidden.
3.3. Cheating/ Bugusing Cheating or bugusing is not allowed in any form and will result in disqualification of the whole team. In addition the player concerned will be banned for good from all Spielwiese Servers.
4. Documentation
4.1. Screenshots At the end of each map one makes a screenshot of the scoreboard. This way we can figure out which team has won more rounds. Each team is responsible for screenshots of their home-map (map the team has chosen). Each team leader is obliged to submit screenshots of his team's matches. Screenshots have to be uploaded to the Event Forum of Spielwieseserver.de (preferably in .jpeg format; max. resolution 800x600; max. size 1,2 MB) as soon as possible after the particular match. There will be a thread for each match, just post the screenshots as a reply. If a team fails to submit screenshots of their home-map, the map will be counted as 6:0 for the opponent team. If there are screenshots missing or not handed in at all, the match will be counted as 0:0.
4.2. Demos* Demorec-funktion always must be switched on. This means every player has to make sure that a demo will be recorded from the start till the end of each match. The admins will demand one or more demos from all players in a random order. These demos are to be sent to the admins right after the particular match. If a requested demo is not handed in to the admins, the admins reserve the right to penalize/ disqualify the Team. Demos are to be stored on your system for a period of 10 days after the tournament.
5. Scoring System
The two teams that win most matches qualify for the next round/ the final (see 2.1). In case of a draw of some teams the totalled map wins will be decisive. In the event of a draw even in the map wins count, the totalled flags captured in all matches are decisive. The results will be published within the schedule.
6. Validity of the Rules
The above rules are a basis for behaviour and gameplay. We reserve the right to change, extend or delete parts of the rules or the rules as a whole. In addition the rules of our regular servers are valid for this tournament. In cases of uncertainty the admins will decide.
*How to create a demo? To start a demo, open the console and type demorec . Please use your nickname (only alphanumeric letters, no symbols, no clan-tag etc). If more demos are requested, please add numbers 1-9 to your name.
If you do not know how to record a demo, please find detailed instructions at our tutorial section under: Recording a Demo - Demorec.
